tylenol toxicity

Hello, today  I am going to talk to you about the over the counter drug called “Tylenol”. When I think of Tylenol I just thing of a harmless pill that you take that relieves pain. Tylenol is used by people everywhere all over the world. It is one of the most common generic pain relievers in the universe. This drug called Tylenol used to be my mom’s medicine of choice.  The main medication used in Tylenol is called acetaminophen. It is a medicine used to treat mild to moderate pain and fever, it is usually sold in combinations like cold medicine. This drug is typically used orally or rectally. It is also available intravenously and the effect last two to four hours.  This drug is usually safe at recommended doses. Skin rashes may occur. Too high of an amount may result in liver failure. You can ingest Tylenol while breast feeding and while you are pregnant. Even though Tylenol can cause severe harm to your liver people with severe liver disease can still use the drug. But if you do have liver disease then you should use the drug in lower doses, the drug does not have anti-inflammatory properties and how it works is not completely clear. This drug is on the WHO model list of essential medicines. They call this drug one of the most important medications needed in a basic health system. The most generic medicines that contain this drug are Tylenol and Panadol.  There are many adverse effects Tylenol has on the body,
1)      Liver damage: overdoses of the drug Tylenol can cause potentially fatal liver damage. Tylenol toxicity is the foremost cause of liver failure in the world. In the 1990s, Tylenol Tylenol overdoses accounted for at least twenty five percent of emergency department visits.
2)      Skin reactions: according to the FDA, there are accounts that show that Tylenol could cause a rare, and possible fatal skin reactions.
3)      Asthma: there is a link between Tylenol and asthma in the first world, doctors try to explain that the drug should be used to treat pain and fevers but children who suffer asthma should stay away from taking this medication.
4)      Other factors: in comparison to aspirin. Tylenol does not prevent blood from clotting. So this means that this drug can be used when failed pressure of blood is a major concern.  However Tylenol does not help reduce swelling, however aspirin does. Also unlike aspirin Tylenol is considered safe for children to use.
Yes you can overdose on Tylenol. Tylenol toxicity my initially be absent of symptoms. That is why it is so dangerous. The first signs of overdose usually occur several hours after you take the medicine. This is when vomiting sweating and nausea start.  Tylenol overdoes accounts for more calls to the toxic control center than the any other pharmaceutical drug in the United States and the United Kingdom. Tylenol is a great drug that can prevent may things. But don’t take too much of it, because it may kill you. to learn more about this click the links below.
